Capturing the mood...

Here is the first mood board to support NeoNautical. It reflects the gentle elements of water, an provides visual aid to understand what the final images will hopefully look like. The aim is to create a simple natural image which plays homage to water itself, rather then being solely about the model, the mixture of editorial shot and water image creates interesting textures and could be something to consider as a part of the post production.

I also feel it is now useful to include mock-ups which were created for the NeoNautical section within the proposal. These images give a good reference point for when the actual trend pages are created. It will be interesting to use the feedback given to work as a starting point to begin these pages, and may find that what I have created below works well. I am very interested to get feedback on layout of the article as this is what I struggled with most. The example imagery for the shoot reflects the feeling given by the mood board above and is certainly the direction I want to head in for the actual shoot.

At present I am researching and looking into swimming pools which would be suitable for hire to carry out the shoot.

The Allure of Fur

Recently one of my University Lecturers has been bringing clothes into our seminar for us to shoot. Its been really amazing to work with some exquisite gowns and accessories. I got to shoot some very different looks but I think the most striking and unusual ones included a black fur snood. Mixed with the models strong features, slick hair, and beautiful skin tone, these images are some of my favorites to date. I would like to thank the beautiful Alexa Baigent for being an incredible model.

DOPETHIRTEEN

After posting my Green Hue images, I decided to dedicate a post to the gorgeous Nadia, and a new clothing line which is close to her heart. DopeThirteen is a clothing range designed by her boyfriend, Imran Shaikh based upon Hip Hop and Skater culture.

"The Aztec sun represents life's cycle and the sacrifices we must make. The two diamonds covering the eyes simply represent wealth and prosperity. The Thirteen is based on how people try to avoid bad luck by keeping away from anything numbered or labelled thirteen, so to have this numbered on our logo metaphorically is to act in disregard to what others believe or do." Quote - DopeThirteen

I love this new brand, the logo is new, fresh and current. With the proper promotion I can see this going far. Personally I can't wait to get my hands on a tee. Hope you like. Below are some images taken from the website of the clothing. TAKE A LOOK!  DopeThirteen

Green Hue

I'm a very lucky girl who has friends who are willing to spontaneously model for me. Nadia was a star, standing in my run down back garden, in the freezing cold while I shot some 'street style' images for my portfolio. These images are based on the casual 'chic' ideas behind street style, and I hoped to reflect a little of that vibe through this series of pictures. All I can say is thank you for putting up with me girls, you all make great models.
